eOptimist is the new generation of Optimist International Members. We’re a 501(c)4 nonprofit and we focus on discovering, sharing and living Optimism with an online community. We have a positive vision for the future because we believe Optimists will change the world. And, we support the next generation of Optimism by leading by example – that is, living The Optimist Creed on a daily basis.
We are a group of people who have united in the name of Optimism. We are always wanting to learn more, better ourselves and find the best in the people around us.
The Optimist Creed
Adopted by Optimist International in 1922, The Optimist Creed was written by Christian D. Larson and is a reminder to live life with a positive mindset. Use the tenets of the creed as a philosophy of life and a way to stay Optimistic.
Promise yourself to live The Optimist Creed.
A history of Optimism
In 1911, a group of businessmen in Buffalo, New York formed a small group of optimistic individuals. In 1919, they made their group official – capitalizing their “o” and formally launching Optimist International.
Since, we’ve been spreading positivity across the country.
Each year, we accomplish 65,000 service projects, spending $78 million in a diverse set of communities. Our programs positively affect six-million kids annually.
Since our beginning, we have held onto our Optimistic philosophy – to think only the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
